People don't realize how little sports was on TV before that

Before Raycom came along, there was very little sports on television. College football was limited to one maybe 2 games a Saturday, same with basketball. NBA was a game on Sunday afternoon, pro football was 1pm and 4pm on CBS and NBC and Monday Night Football. Baseball was a Saturday afternoon game, and maybe the "local" team if there was an independent station in the market that needed nighttime programming. The NHL was sporadic in its coverage. That was it. The only thing that was a given every Saturday morning was pro wrestling.

And then came Raycom. Without Raycom, this shot would never have been seen.
